As the sun began to peek over the tree tops on the chilly morning of April 9, shoppers gathered en masse for the grand re-opening of the Hannaford supermarket in Bar Harbor.The store has been undergoing renovations since early last fall.

A lease has been signed and, if some minor aesthetic changes can be made within the next several days, the 15th Pat’s Pizza restaurant is expected to open in the downtown village, possibly at the beginning of next week.

In an effort to avoid going to court, the town’s attorneys are holding private negotiations with Bill Dale, the attorney representing property owners that have sued the town over two 2010 town meetings.
