A $14.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education announced this week will allow school districts to provide free access to pre-school for more than 500 additional Maine children. “This is an encouraging step toward implementing universal prekindergarten in Maine,” said Rep. Brian Hubbell, D-Bar Harbor.
