The Mount Desert Island Historical Society invites the public to the Sound School House, 373 Sound Drive, to celebrate the fruits of a long winter’s labor in “Waves of Change,” 4-6 p.m. April 20. Join the Society for the opening of a new permanent exhibit, which presents a history of Mount Desert Island’s schools and the village of Sound. The Society will also launch a new website, unveil a digital map of the island, and celebrate the arrival of this year’s Chebacco magazine.
