The Mount Desert Island boys and girls basketball squads hosted Aroostook County opponents in home doubleheaders last week on the island as the Trojans hoped to pick up additional victories as 2011 closed and 2012 began.
The Trojans faced Caribou in a doubleheader Dec. 29 as the MDI boys stayed unbeaten with a 58-28 win, while the MDI girls also prevailed 59-36.
