Friends and family will gather for her wake tomorrow, and again for her funeral on Friday, but they won’t be remembering how Doris Ryan died; they’ll be remembering how she lived, especially these past six months as she valiantly succumbed to inoperable cancer. Her life, once burdened by the demons of addiction, and shaken by the dissolution of a marriage to a man she loved, would become a power of example to all who knew her.
