Jackie and Charlie Mitchell woke up on the morning of Jan. 11 to find that someone had flung a dead deer over the hood of their truck.
Jackie Mitchell said she received a telephone call at about 8:30 a.m. from another resident who lives across the narrow harbor.
“He said, ‘Have you looked out on your vehicle?’” she said. “He said, ‘There’s a dead deer on your truck.’ I went out, and sure enough.”
