Acadia National Park rangers and other area first responders gathered at the Eagle Lake Landing in Acadia National Park Jan. 11 for an annual training session in cold water rescue. Participants braved the icy water of Eagle Lake to prepare for emergency scenarios involving victims who have broken through the ice of the island’s lakes and ponds, or have become stranded in the frigid Atlantic waters off its shores.
