The Mount Desert Island High School speech team earned a third-place “sweeps” award at the Maine Forensics Association-sanctioned speech tournament hosted by Skowhegan Area High School on Jan. 21.
“That’s the team award for accumulated points earned from placements in individual events. The last time our speech team won a sweeps award was the fall of 2009,” said coach Marjory Russakoff. “I am very pleased.”
