Councilors approve planning department budget sans town planner position

During the first in a series of town budget workshops on Jan. 19, the Bar Harbor Town Council considered requests from cooperating and outside agencies, the planning department and other town departments, and modified the Cruise Ship fund.
At the conclusion of the initial workshop, councilors approved allocating $35,066 for cooperating agencies, down 0.8 percent from the previous fiscal year.
