Maine researchers say unique fish leads to possible medical breakthrough

Zebrafish have a rare ability to regenerate nearly any body part, and 70 percent of their genetic makeup is identical to humans. Researchers, including assistant professor Voot Yin at the MDI Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor, are using zebrafish to study how new medicine can help grow muscle and remove scar tissue in the human heart.
