Lew Gannuscio does not like cold weather. In the mid-1970s, long before his stroke, Gannuscio, 57, left his job as a truck driver in Connecticut for a vacation to Las Vegas and ended up staying for five years, working primarily as an assistant purchasing agent at the now-defunct Mint Casino.
