In its fourth official meeting on April 11, members of the tentatively titled Clean Islands Coalition sat down to discuss the Earth Day cleanup weekend, scheduled for Friday, April 22, to Sunday, April 24. Marissa Hutchinson led the discussion as group members debated the best course of action to get the word out to the island communities. Suggestions of putting fliers up at town offices and post offices, as well as in stores throughout the island were contemplated and agreed upon, as well as a suggestion by Cathy Hart that the group try to get selectmen from Stonington and Deer Isle involved.
