Less than a week after his 5-year-old Akita Chow, Dusty, was diagnosed with heartworms, Phil Ranger, a cash-strapped resident of the Harbor Hill Estate housing complex, successfully completed a fundraising campaign for an emergency $700 treatment at the Acadia Veterinary Hospital.
