The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has put in a budget request for 2013 of $5.1 billion, $600 million below the $5.5 billion that NOAA had requested for 2012.
However, the budget request reflects an increase of $153.9 million over the $4.9 billion budget that Congress approved for 2012.
