Internationally renowned social activist Naomi Klein, whom The New Yorker called “the most visible and influential figure on the American left,” will be in Maine to give the keynote address at College of the Atlantic‘s 2015 commencement on June 6. Klein, a New York Times bestselling author and contributing writer for Rolling Stone, Harper’s and The Nation, recently noted the importance of the experiential philosophy towards education embodied at the Bar Harbor college in addressing today’s pressing environmental and social concerns. “COA has cut the edge of ecologically progressive education for over forty years – not because it was fashionable, but because that’s their mission,” Klein said.
