The Nokomis football team had not won a game this season and the Warriors had their sights on filling that void in the victory column Saturday afternoon, Oct. 8, when Mount Desert Island came to town.
The Warriors essentially had their best chance at a win slip through their fingers, however, as the Trojans received a career day from tailback Elias Burne, as the islanders held on for a thrilling 30-26 win.
