Kathy Mulligan, MDI Hospital's wellness coordinator and smoking cessation program advocate, accepts the Gold Star Standard of Excellence Award on behalf of MDI Hospital from the Maine Tobacco-Free Hospital Network at a Maine Hospital Association recognition event held on September 15 in Augusta. Martha Bucklin, LCSW of MDI Hospital's Behavioral Health Center, was recognized as a gold star champion for establishing free patient-centered, hospital supported smoking cessation support groups.
