Pumpkin-carvers young and middle-age took over the Southwest Harbor Public Library’s parking area on Thursday afternoon to participate in the library’s annual Pumpkin Festival.
Youngsters used special carving tools to make whimsical or scary faces on the orange squashes — with just a little bit of help, in some cases, from parents. Throughout the day, there would be music and cider.
