The Rockport Select Board quickly approved a six-month extension of the inter-department agreement between Camden and Rockport's police forces Dec. 5. In June, Camden Police Chief Randy Gagne was appointed interim police chief for the town of Rockport for six months, beginning July 1. The six-month interlocal agreement expanded Gagne's duties to cover the chief duties in Rockport following the resignation of Rockport Police Chief Mark Kelley. The agreement, which relies on cooperation between towns in responding to emergency calls, expires at the end of December.
