Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said she was stunned when Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, told her she would not seek re-election this year.
Collins was at the 2012 Maine Fishermen’s Forum in Rockport on March 2 to watch the bidding on the U.S. flag she donated to the forum’s annual scholarship auction. The flag is flown over the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., and dedicated as the winning bidder chooses.
