The Mount Desert Island YMCA swim team will dive into “shark infested waters” on Sunday, Feb. 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Super Bowl Sunday) for the squad’s annual aquathon.
The aquathon is a pledge event to help defray the cost of the swim team. Last year’s event raised more than $24,000 used to keep the cost of the program low and to provide scholarships for some members of the swim team.
